DEEP WELL SCRIBAL

Josh Fleet has been drawing stuff for fun since he was a kid among the pines and palms of North Florida. All along his non-linear path — currently as Associate Director of Hadar’s Rising Song Institute, previously as a winemaker at Covenant Winery, and before that as an editor for religion at The Huffington Post, moving from Gainesville to New York to Jerusalem to Berkeley and back to Atlanta, where he was born — typographic exploration has been a daily spiritual practice. He makes one-of-a-kind Hebrew letter art, including custom ketubot (wedding contracts), brachot (blessings), kavvanot (intentions), kame’ot (amulets), and is actively studying the laws of sofrut (the Jewish scribal tradition).
